The Apartment Maintenance Technology program is designed to help students begin a career as a maintenance technician. They will develop the knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for preforming building maintenance, and, diagnosing and repairing equipment.  They will also understand the upkeep and maintenance required at a property in order to maintain its curb appeal, and to ensure that all vacant apartment units are restored to a “market ready” condition and in a timely manner.

This program consists of eight courses: [1] Interior Building Maintenance, [2] Basic Electricity, [3] Electric Furnace Maintenance, [4] Gas Furnace Maintenance, [5] EPA Technician Certification, [6] Air Conditioning Maintenance, [7] Grounds, Scenery & Curb Appeal, and [8] General Plumbing Maintenance.  When computed, the lessons consists of 320 hours of specialized technical training: 192 hours of online training and 128 hours of OJT (On-the-Job Training).  More specifically, the students will do online training on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, then go to an apartment community and do OJT on Thursdays and Fridays.
Graduates will earn a Technical Certificate in Apartment Maintenance Technology, and, EPA Technician Certification as approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
