The Electrical Wiring Maintenance program is designed to help students develop technical knowledge and skills related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential electrical systems.  Students will learn how to diagnose and repair duplex receptacles, wall switches, lighting fixtures, 110 volt special purpose circuits, 220 volt range and dryer circuits, fire and smoke detector circuits, low voltage doorbell circuits, and more.  Students will also learn how to correctly install junction boxes, subpanels, and/or a main breaker panel. In addition, students will learn how to interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics. Emphasis will be placed on making repairs in safe, efficient and productive manners.

This program consists of 2 courses and 1 workshop.  The courses include [1] General Wiring Maintenance and [2] Advanced Wiring Maintenance.  The workshop covers Aluminum Wiring Maintenance.  Courses are geared towards self-paced learning that will give students "maximum exposure" in maintaining electrical systems.  When computed, the course lessons consists of 88 hours of specialized technical training: 68 hours of online training, followed by 20 hours of OJT (On-the-Job Training) through an employer.

Graduates will be awarded a Technical Certificate in Electrical Wiring Maintenance.
