AC/C TECH’s mission is to provide high-quality online training focused on practical diagnostic and repair techniques required by Apartment, Co-op, and Condominium TECHnicians and to develop knowledgeable, highly skilled, and certified professionals for the industry, nationwide.
Core Values
AC/C TECH seeks to achieve its mission through the following core values:
- Recruit and admit prospective students who are interested in residential and apartment maintenance technology, likely to complete the educational objectives, and suited for employment at the end of the training. - Provide quality online training so that students can develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for performing building maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing equipment pursuant to regulatory codes. In addition, provide training that will help students understand the upkeep and maintenance required at a property to maintain its curb appeal, and to ensure that all vacant apartment units are restored to a “market ready” condition in a timely manner.
- Establish a training/learning platform that is 100% web-based, easy to understand, and easy to navigate.
- Provide OJT (On-Job-Training) services that will help property managers reduce maintenance expenditures as it relates to the completion of workorders, diagnostic & repair procedures, planned maintenance activities, job task standards, restoring vacant apartment units, and uniform physical inspections.
- Offer professional development training that will help graduates achieve future educational objectives, earn credentials, obtain promotions, and build a lifelong career as a maintenance technician.
- Promote outcomes through the National Apartment Association, United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), State and Local Housing Associations, and Property Management Firms… with the intent of increasing student enrollment.

The corresponding educational/vocational objectives for each program includes: [a] understanding how the equipment operates, [b] mastering diagnostic and repair procedures, [c] completing assignments within job task standards, [d] adhering to regulatory codes, [e] documenting workorders pursuant to employer standards, and [f] maintaining safety obligations.
The benchmark to earn the OAD (Occupational Associate Degree) involves successfully completing 60.4 semester credits: 38.4 credits of required coursework, 7 credits of technical electives, and 15 credits of general education coursework. The OAD program is setup to guide students through five cohort technical certificate programs (such as HVAC Maintenance, Plumbing Maintenance, Electrical Wiring Maintenance, Interior/Exterior Building Maintenance, and Appliance Repair) that can rollover into earning a degree without penalty. The “General Education Coursework” can stem from any recognized accredited institution, and when completed, the results will be transferred into the student’s AC/C TECH Transcript. The general education coursework may include natural and physical sciences (mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, etc.); social and behavioral sciences (psychology, sociology, history, geography, economics, etc.); humanities and fine arts (English, written and oral communication, literature, foreign language, etc.). To help facilitate this requirement, we have secured Articulation Agreements from Ivy Tech Community College and the California Institute of Applied Technology.
Course Delivery
The AC/C TECH training/learning platform is 100% web-based. Students can pursue training anytime (24/7) and from any location. The lessons can be stopped and started at will and repeated five times. This improves the learning process because students have control over the presentation. All lessons can be completed by using any desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet, or smart phone. We also utilize other technologies to optimize interaction between our institution and students, which include conducting web-meetings, communicating with students using Zoom, social media, etc.
Each student is assigned a private username and password which permits access to our training/learning platform and other resources anytime (24/7) and from any location.
